Another call from the doctor

So the good news is that Jordon's cancer is less than originally thought.  The bad news is they must go in and do another biopsy.

The doctor called me this morning to let me know that the biopsy results returned negative.  Which sounds good right?  Well...the PET scan had shown that there were still active cells in the tumor and the most active cells were in the center of the tumor (PET scans use radioactive sugar to attach to cancer cells in the body).  Jordon's oncologist was hopeful that the less invasive procedure would return the information we needed to proceed, but since it didn't plan B is necessary.  Since the biopsy yesterday did not conclude how active those cancer cells were, Jordon must have a more invasive procedure so that the doctors can get to the center of the tumor.  This time they will do an incision (instead of a needle) to get a piece of the tumor.  This is all important so that the doctors know EXACTLY how to treat Jordon.  They have a plan on how they are going to treat him according to what the PET scan has shown, but the biopsy will be more specific in exactly how "smart" these cancer cells are.  Bummer yesterday was an unnecessary procedure, but I have to tell myself that if they would have gotten what they needed yesterday it would have been better than the invasive procedure, so atleast now we know.  We know that the pieces that they did get of the tumor were negative and that the live cancer cells in his body is smaller than once thought.  We can still be prayerful the entire tumor is negative and that the next biopsy will confirm that!

Satan is not going to win over this family.  He is not going to let us get discouraged (even though he is trying).  Satan has control over the weak, and we are not weak.  Thank you for all of your prayers!  We love you!
