Almost a Week!

Wow!  I think that we have always taken being home for granted.  It seems like we are always planning things or keeping busy to avoid being in the house to much, but it has certainly been nice to be home after being gone for almost 4 weeks straight (with two days home in between).  And by home, I don't just mean being in our house, but also surrounded by those that love us and comfort us.

Jordon commented that he has never missed the county fair.  Friday Jordon's home health nurse came to take Jordon's blood.  While waiting for the results, Jordon and I went up to the local grocery store to see some friends that were holding a benefit for him.  Later that day the nurse called us and told us that his counts were GREAT!!!  This means two things, he is able to fight off infection and he is ready for his next round of chemo.  So after I talked to the doctor on Friday, and she told us to let him go to the fair, we went.  A friend of ours supported Jordon through a figure 8 car, so Jordon wanted to go cheer on "his car".  Jordon also played a couple of games at the fair and really enjoyed himself.  Saturday night was a baseball tournament in Eldon and those from surrounding communities, as well as those from California, played for Jordon.  So when the weather cooled off, Jordon and I headed out there to enjoy the game.  Then today our family was blessed with a wonderful message and able to participate in the Lord's Supper at church.  Jordon looks and feels great, and his counts are good, so we want to be sure to take advantage of those days over the next year. What a blessed weekend!

We have been so blessed by so many things during this time.  Since finding out about Jordon's condition, we have received amazing support and the Lord has sent so many comforts to us.  We see the Lord working in so many areas of our life right now.  In a situation like this, things could not have been smoother for us.  Like Jordon receiving a teacher that will completely understand what Jordon is going through, to the girls being taken care of, to the balance of work, home, hospital, and school, the Lord has His hand on our lives and He is working, everything is in sync with our situation. So to those of you that are praying, THANK YOU!  Because we know those prayers are working.  To God be the glory!  To those of you that have helped us in any way-THANK YOU!

Next on the agenda-we go back Tuesday and will stay till the following Monday for a week of chemo treatments.  Prayers that Jordon's body will continue to accept the treatments with little or no side effects both now and long term.  And that all procedures go well and that the chemo will continue to shrink the mass and kill the cancer cells.  Also prayers that we will be able to continue to balance everything.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.  Ephesians 6:18

Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.  Luke 21:36
