Round 3

Note to self:  If you are coming into St. Louis at 8:00 in the morning be prepared to be part of a rolling parking lot.

The drive up here took us a few more minutes than anticipated, so we were a little late for our appointment but all went well on our first day of round 3.

First thing this morning they drew Jordon's blood again and determined all is well to go ahead and start chemo.  So we immediately got started.  They gave Jordon some Benadryl, so he slept through one of the treatments.  In the mean time the doctor came in to tell me that the last CT scan has shown that the tumor shrunk enough to proceed with placing a port in Jordon's chest.  Hallelujah!  This will make it even easier for Jordon to be the boy that he is.  They will place the entire port under the skin so there will be no home maintenance.  This also means that the tumor has shrunk enough that they feel comfortable placing Jordon under anesthesia.  While Jordon is under anesthesia they will also give him his first of three intrathecal (spinal) chemo this week.

This evening Jordon told me he was craving Central Dairy Tiger Tracks ice cream (this made me crave it to).  He happened to mention it when the nurse was in his room and she told us that down the street they have a shop that sells Central Dairy ice cream!  I was shocked!  I didn't think anyone here knew what that was.  Since Jordon has very specific taste buds during chemo, and we want him to eat, I hopped in the car and found it-Central Dairy ice cream!  What a yummy dinner!

Prayers for tonight and tomorrow are that all goes well when Jordon is placed under anesthesia.  Prayers that chemo continues to go well. Praises are that chemo is going well and that Jordon still has an appetite.
