Half way done

We came into St. Louis just before noon on Tuesday.  They checked Jordon in and his first roommate was a 17 year old whom had just been diagnosed with lymphoma.  We haven't met any other lymphoma's up here so Jordon and him connected quickly.  The roommate happened to have brought a 32 inch TV and playstation from home that he shared with Jordon.  Jordon had a lot of fun.  It didn't last long since the roommate was able go home later that day.  Jordon's next roommate was also 17 years old but not near as pleasant.  He had some favorite words that were not appropriate for a 10 year old to hear.  So we asked to have the situation remedied.  Since that time we have had a room all to ourselves :).

Jordon continues to impress the doctors.  I think I told you that the doctor forewarned us and told us that this chemotherapy makes children very sick, sometimes dehydrated.  So far (prayers continuing), Jordon has not been sick.  He has a few symptoms, such as ankle and hand pain but they are thinking that this is an after effect of the last chemo since the current chemo doesn't cause joint/bone pain.  Jordon's appetite is always nothing when he is in the hospital.  Since being here on Tuesday he has ate two things of strawberry yogurt and a few pringles.  I know that seems like nothing but the nurses and doctors assure me that it is ok, and the fluids that he is getting contain nutrients so it is likely his appetite is suppressed because of that.

This stay has been busier than others.  Jordon has been able to fill his days with activities since he is feeling pretty good.  Yesterday (Thursday) he attended school, via skype, for 3 hours.  It was neat for him to get to see all of his classmates while sitting in the hospital.  As a parent it was neat for me to listen in and see what he is learning at school (if you have a boy you may understand Jordon's unwillingness to talk about what he does at school everyday).  Another neat thing is that he was able to interact with all of the classmates and answer questions like a normal student.

Again we thank you for the prayers that are lifting Jordon up EVERY step of the way.  We know that they are working and that glory be to the Lord!  We also know that He answers all prayers and that we ask His will be done.  Please continue to pray for Jordon's full recovery as well as against any short or long term side effects.  I would ask that you also continue to pray for the girls as they are separated from their mother and brother during this time.  And for us as we are separated from husband/father and children/sisters.  Thank you!

The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children's children.  To such as keep His covenant, and to those who remember His commandments to do them.  Psalm 103:17-18.
