So the plan thus far is to do a surgical biopsy of the remaining tumor.  The PET scan shows the tumor and in the center of that tumor there is an even smaller area that "lights up" (PET scans use radioactive sugar to attach to "active" cells in the body).  A PET scan shows activity in all areas that are active cells, ie bone marrow, spleen, brain.  But when an area shows active cells that isn't suppose to have them, the doctors must find out what those active cells are.  It is possible that it can be an infection or again necrotic tissue/dying tissue (the last biopsy showed that this lit up area was necrotic tissue).  We knew all of this was a great possibility but are still highly hopeful that this area that lights up is not cancer-only a biopsy will tell.  We are glad Jordon got to celebrate and still feel as though that celebration was the beginning of Jordon being cancer free forever!  We must celebrate today every chance we get.

We all still feel very positive that Jordon is cancer free-even Jordon told me he felt as though the cancer is gone.  But the hard part is waiting for answers.  I will keep you posted on when the biopsy is scheduled for, since the surgeons must find a time when they can schedule him.  Although we want answers, we did request that it be scheduled AFTER his birthday this weekend since the biopsy will be more invasive and require some recovery.  So again, we celebrate today.  Jordon will turn 11 on Saturday and we think about what a difference a year makes.  How important each birthday is, and how each moment we must celebrate.
