Our day started out early when we left home around 4:30 am.  We arrived at Children's around 7:15 am and made good time.  I assumed that traffic would be horrific this time of day, but amazingly there was little traffic.  Since Jordon's appointment time was 8, Jordon and I napped in the car for a few minutes before going to his appointment.  They quickly got him in and injected him with the radioactive sugar (his port was still accessed from the last chemo on Sunday-so no IV).  The uptake of the sugar takes about 1 hour and Jordon had to drink this severely bitter contrast that took nearly the entire hour for 8 ounces.  During the wait, we prayed together.

The scan took about 20 minutes and during the time the radiologist came in and I was allowed to ask him questions that I have been saving up for a while.  I asked him about some of the noted ground glass opacities they seen in other scans and the activity they noted in his spleen.  He reassured me that these things would be seen in most people and they are not concerned unless they see a consistent increase in these areas.  We also discussed what the previous activity in the tumor could have been-of course one answer was residual tumor, or infection, or dying (necrotic) tissue.

After the scan we headed to clinic to see Jordon's oncologist.  We told her about Jordon's ankle pain and stomach aches.  She suggested we try Pepcid for heartburn that may cause the stomach ache and if the ankle pain did not get better to notify her.  She assumes that since Vincristine (a chemotherapy drug) has caused his ankle pain in the past, and he was recently on it, it could be from that.  His pain went away after a few weeks, so we must give it time.

At this time we have no final results of the scan, but are expecting them as early as tomorrow.  Thank you for all of the prayers.  God is good, and we are surrounded by love and encouragement.
