After a doctor visit for a scratchy throat and 99.4 temperature, we received news that would take us through an unknown emotional journey. Jordon was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma on 7/12/11. On 1/26/12 Jordon rang the bell after his final chemotherapy AND on February 15, 2012 results showed Jordon was cancer free. His strength is truly heroic. Thank you Jordon's prayer warriors! We pray the Lord continues to carry Jordon through many decades of good health!

How we got here.
It all started the day after Jordon had a baseball double header. On Wednesday July 6th Jordon began running a low grade fever in the night. I went to work the next day on Thursday and my babysitter called mid morning and said that he had a temperature of about 99.4. At that point, I decided to schedule an appointment with the doctor for Friday. Thursday night Jordon again ran a low grade fever of under 100. Friday I took him and Taylor to work with me as the appointment was not until 11:15 so I went into work for a couple of hours. We headed for the dr. at 10:30 and got in a little early. First up was Taylor (I had the doctor do a swab for strep while were were there). The dr. looked her over and in the mean time Jordon started complaining of extreme pain in his chest. He curled up in a fetal position and began rubbing his chest. While the dr. finished up with Taylor, Jordon ran to the bathroom. When he came out of the bathroom he was crying uncontrollably. The dr. examined him and Jordon had no fever but she heard a heart murmur. She asked if he had always had this heart murmur and to that I responded no. I also asked why he was having chest pain. She indicated that she did not hear any pneumonia but could not hear all of his left lung so she thought there might be a touch of it. Since the murmur was a new murmur she wanted to send him over to the hospital for an x-ray. She also scheduled us for an ultrasound on Tuesday. On the way over to the hospital to get the x-ray (a 10 minute drive) Jordon was in so much pain, he had me pull over twice so he could vomit. Once to the hospital I told them that he was in so much pain they needed to perform the x-ray quickly to see what was causing the pain. They told me I needed to register and I told them that his pain was so great that we may need to go through the emergency room to get quick relief from this pain. They had me call the pediatrician to see what she wanted us to do. When I called her she got on the phone and told me that she would have him admitted to the hospital so he could get quick relief of the pain and possibly overnight observation. That way we could get the x-ray AND ultrasound done while we were there. Once admitted they sent us to get the ultrasound (echo) done first. The tech told me they may have seen an enlarged lymph node showing infection and maybe some fluid around the heart. We then went for the x-ray. After the x-ray the pediatrician called me and told me that they had found either an infection or a mass in Jordon's chest cavity and that they would need to do a CT scan to confirm what it was. The CT scan was done around 3:00 pm and then we waited for the pediatrician to get off from her shift and come talk to us. By this time I had called most of my family and they were there. When the pediatrician came she asked me if I would like to join her in a private room. She then told me that there was infact a mass in Jordon's chest and that they would need to send me to a bigger hospital as they weren't equipped to handle those medical procedures there. We decided to go to Children's Hospital in St. Louis. They didn't feel comfortable letting us go on our own (since Jordon was at risk of having his airway obstructed if the mass moved) so Children's Hospital sent an ambulance down to pick us up. We arrived in St. Louis at 1:00 am on Saturday morning.
